Macy’s will be making an appearance during NYFW by hosting it’s own show. The well-known, New York based retailer, will present “Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row” on Sept. 17th at The Theater in Madison Square Garden. This televised event will have everything from celebrities, 150-look runway show, dancing, and musical acts.
The event will feature fashion that’s exclusive to Macy’s, including pieces from both Heidi Klum and Ryan Seacrest’s collections for the retailer. According to a release from the brand, the show will celebrate the “intersection of music and fashion,” and viewers can expect performances from the likes of Nate Ruess, better known as the lead singer of the band Fun. For those in New York, tickets will be made available to the public beginning on Aug. 21, with all proceeds benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the CFDA.
This being Macy’s, the event will also air nationally on E! on Sept. 23. Behind-the-scenes footage from NYFW, along with celebrity and designer interviews, will be included during the broadcast.
In 2014 Macy’s sponsored Fashion Rocks — the first revamped Fashion Rocks after a hiatus since 2008 — at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, which was considered a ratings flop when it aired on CBS, despite its heavy social media angle and appearances by Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez and a Calvin Klein Underwear-clad Justin Bieber. Come September, we’ll see if this year’s version of the big budget fashion-meets-pop culture event will fare better.
