Stefano Gabbana provided a sneak preview of the new direction for Dolce & Gabbana on his Instagram @stefanogabbana.
Dolce & Gabbana debuted the first Abaya and Hijab collection released on Style.com/Arabia on Sunday. The collection ranges in neutral colors including black and beige colors with a mix of various patterns from the Italian Fashion Label’s Spring 2016 Collection.
The Abaya and Hijab is created from a lightweight fabric with vibrant drapes and satin weave charmeuse.
According a 2014-2015 report by Thomson Reuters, Muslim shoppers reportedly spent over $196 billion on apparel in 2013 and expended to exceed over $484 billion in spending by 2019, so look for more designers to tap into this growing market.
