On September 13th, 2016, at the Skylight Moynihan Station, Chinese Designer Jia Liu presented us a fabulous show of her fascinating kids fashion and adult fashion collection. The inspiration of this fashion collection takes Gorilla, the Gorilla Island, outerspace elements and binds with Chinese future machinery elements—the phoenix fish, the rose eye and mechanical feather to present the sense of a fantastic future world. Fabrics used in this season also expressed the same idea: future, energetic, children and parent through the consideration of the absorbance, skin-friendliness, and stretchiness for active purposes. The elegant embroidery, active-cut and the unique 360 degree printing on the fabric also collectively highlights this season.

According to Jia Liu, the concept of the character Gorilla of Comme Tu Es initiated from the intention of bringing adults and children into unknown ideal state in the outer space and on a journey of exploration with full curiosity and passion. By taking people into a fantasy land in black and white base tone and spoon-drift pattern, with animals living peacefully together speaks out loud Jia`spassion about encouraging people to be understanding, united, and unique in their own and together as a whole.

Jia had spent 7 years in France and earned a degree at Mod’art International, an art and fashion institute. The brand Comme Tu Eswas founded 8 years ago in Beijing and first made the appearance in the International Fashion Week there. The name of the brand literally translates as “As You Are”, which is exactly what Jia believes in in each individual: the power of uniqueness in each person. In 2016, Comme Tu Es worked with Rio Olympics and launched special collection of t-shirt as official Olympic franchise, and presented special show on the Mercedes Benz Fashion week in 2016. With all the international vision and experience, accent ofFrench elegance in design, and Chinese cultural foundation, Jia hopes to take Comme Tu Es step forward onto the international stage with her bold and free spirit, and as well hopes to weave love and fashion together into the greatest power and gift in children`s growth.
