The former Creative Director at Balenciaga and the Iconic Sportswear Brand collaborated together to develop a 84 piece unisex collection which includes: Sneakers, T-Shirts, Sweatshirts and Pants.
According to the WWJ, the 33 year old designer worked diligently with the Vice President of Design, Nic Galway, to design the sneakers. Nic said “We weren’t trying to use fashion materials.” He continued, “We originally cut up everything by hand and patched it together.”
Galway has a history of collaborating with famous designers including: Stella McCartney, Kanye West, Rick Owens, and Yohji Yamamoto.
Alexander Wang’s inspiration with his collection comes from his experience wearing the Iconic Brand’s sneakers. “I used to wear basketball shoes” said the fashion designer. “My legs are skinny”. He continued, “I started looking like Mickey Mouse.”
You can expect prices for the collection to range between $80 to $450.
